Correndo atr\u00e1s deles estava um cansado Audi 80. A regra do desenho foi t\u00e3o bem acertada que \u00e9 at\u00e9 hoje usada nos modelos da marca. Na parte mec\u00e2nica a maior novidade era a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de motores com cinco v\u00e1lvulas por cilindro, um deles\u00a0o turbo de 1,8 litro que equiparia os nacionais Audi A3 e VW Golf GTI. O V6 de 2,8 litros e 30 v\u00e1lvulas rendia respeit\u00e1veis 180 cv. Surgiu o esportivo S4, usando o motor V6 biturbo de 2,7 litros e 30 v\u00e1lvulas com\u00a0265 cv, e a perua RS4 Avant, com 380 cv a partir da mesma unidade. Ficavam para tr\u00e1s os\u00a0315 cv da perua RS2 da linha 80, cujo motor fora desenvolvido em parceria com a Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='code-block code-block-7' style='margin: 28px auto; A maior ruptura no desenho ficava na tampa do porta-malas, com uma queda suave.
