Partimos em busca de um concorrente para opor ao novo City EXL em um comparativo \u2014 e chegamos ao Kia Cerato, j\u00e1 comparado ao Honda em <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolivraria.com.br\/comp4\/focus-city-cerato-sentra-307-1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">abril<\/a> e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolivraria.com.br\/comp4\/ford-fiesta-honda-city-kia-cerato-1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">novembro de 2010<\/a>,\u00a0ambos em gera\u00e7\u00e3o anterior. Em <em>porte,<\/em>\u00a0diferen\u00e7as aceit\u00e1veis: o Cerato \u00e9 10 cent\u00edmetros maior em comprimento e entre-eixos.\u00a0Seu motor de 1,6 litro tamb\u00e9m produz <em>pot\u00eancia\u00a0<\/em>pouco maior (122 cv com gasolina e 128 com \u00e1lcool) que a do 1,5 do City, que tem 115 e 116 cv, na ordem. Quanto ao <em>pre\u00e7o,<\/em> a vers\u00e3o \u00fanica EX da Kia custa R$ 73.400\u00a0ou 6,4% mais que a EXL da Honda (ambos sem pintura met\u00e1lica), uma boa proximidade, embora seja preciso acrescentar o frete ao Cerato.<\/p>\n<p>Portanto, temos aqui dois carros compar\u00e1veis, um nacional de Sumar\u00e9, SP, outro importado de Hwaseong, Coreia do Sul \u2014 e por isso penalizado com Imposto de Importa\u00e7\u00e3o de 35%. a\u00a0Kia (\u00e0 direita) optou por linhas mais suaves e arredondadas<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Concep\u00e7\u00e3o e estilo<\/h2>\n<p>City \u00e9 um <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolivraria.com.br\/ph2\/318-honda-city-1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">nome longevo<\/a> na Honda, mas nem sempre como sed\u00e3 m\u00e9dio: por duas gera\u00e7\u00f5es (de 1981 e 1986) denominou um hatch pequeno no Jap\u00e3o, at\u00e9 ser adotado em 1996 em um sed\u00e3 tailand\u00eas para aquele e outros mercados asi\u00e1ticos. Seguiram-se as gera\u00e7\u00f5es de 2002 e 2008 at\u00e9 chegar em 2013 \u00e0 atual, todas as tr\u00eas derivadas da plataforma do Fit, embora sem compartilhar pain\u00e9is de carroceria com ele. O Cerato tem menos tempo de hist\u00f3ria: foi lan\u00e7ado na Coreia do Sul em 2003 como sucessor do Sephia e passou a novas gera\u00e7\u00f5es em 2008 e 2012 \u2014 estas chamadas de Forte na maioria dos mercados e, no caso da \u00faltima, de K3 para os sul-coreanos.<\/p>\n<p>A Honda fez um bom trabalho de estilo no novo sed\u00e3, que deixa de lado alguns elementos criticados pelo excesso no Fit (como os v\u00e3os que simulam sa\u00eddas de ar no para-choque traseiro), ao mesmo tempo em que adota o padr\u00e3o de \u00e2ngulos, vincos e sulcos marcantes que caracteriza os \u00faltimos modelos da marca. Mais longo, largo e baixo, ele obt\u00e9m propor\u00e7\u00f5es mais atraentes.\u00a0No conjunto, julgamos bem resolvidos os estilos de ambos. Os dois mostram boa qualidade de carroceria, com v\u00e3os m\u00e9dios ou estreitos e bem regulares entre os pain\u00e9is.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>O ar-condicionado do City usa um painel<br \/>\nsens\u00edvel ao toque,\u00a0longe de ser uma<br \/>\nboa\u00a0ideia: requer mais tempo de aten\u00e7\u00e3o<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"cc\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Conforto e conveni\u00eancia<\/h2>\n<p>A diferen\u00e7a de desenho externo \u2014 mais \u00e2ngulos no City, linhas curvas no Cerato \u2014 repete-se no ambiente interno, que agrada em ambos, sem transmitir modernidade ou\u00a0chegar a ser luxuoso. Os bancos revestidos em couro deixam o Honda mais requintado que o Kia, que usa um tecido algo simples e \u00e1spero, mas os dois t\u00eam couro no volante. Em ambos os pl\u00e1sticos de acabamento s\u00e3o r\u00edgidos, embora com aspecto e montagem corretos, e o Cerato tem bons detalhes como a simula\u00e7\u00e3o de couro sobre o quadro de instrumentos, os apoios bem acolchoados nas portas para o cotovelo (s\u00e3o duros no advers\u00e1rio) e o couro liso e agrad\u00e1vel do volante.<\/p>\n<p>Nenhum\u00a0tem bons bancos dianteiros: os do City exageram no\u00a0apoio lombar a ponto de incomodar,\u00a0enquanto os do Cerato \u2014 muito firmes e mal conformados \u2014 cansam as coxas e as costas, mesmo com o ajuste (el\u00e9trico) de apoio lombar, aspecto que n\u00e3o afetava a gera\u00e7\u00e3o anterior. Qual o mais r\u00e1pido? Em acelera\u00e7\u00f5es e retomadas \u00e9 mesmo o City, que fez de 0 a 100 km\/h em 12,3 segundos (0,4 s antes do Cerato) e retomou de 60 a 120 km\/h em\u00a013,7 s (ante 15,2 s). A efici\u00eancia do CVT para acelerar ficou evidente nas medi\u00e7\u00f5es, pois ao selecionar o modo de uso manual do c\u00e2mbio o 0-100 do Honda piorava em cerca de 1 s.<\/p>\n<p>Acelerado a fundo em modo CVT (e programa esportivo, praxe em nossas medi\u00e7\u00f5es sempre que dispon\u00edvel), o motor do City sobe gradualmente at\u00e9 6.000 rpm (atingidos por volta de 80 km\/h) e ali estaciona; em modo manual, por\u00e9m, surge uma oscila\u00e7\u00e3o entre 5.000 e 6.000 rpm para simular mudan\u00e7as de marcha que s\u00f3 prejudica o desempenho (o Cerato\u00a0troca ao redor de 6.200 rpm, variando conforme a marcha). Gra\u00e7as ao conversor de torque, o atual CVT da Honda pode ser acelerado enquanto se freia at\u00e9 2.000 rpm, sem riscos para a transmiss\u00e3o, o que ajuda na arrancada r\u00e1pida (o do Kia permite um pouco mais, 2.200).<\/p>\n<p>As caracter\u00edsticas de peso, pot\u00eancia e c\u00e2mbio tamb\u00e9m explicam o menor consumo do City nos dois ciclos urbanos do <strong>Best Cars<\/strong>. No trajeto rodovi\u00e1rio foi o oposto, com o Cerato mais econ\u00f4mico por 1 km\/l: al\u00e9m da prov\u00e1vel melhor aerodin\u00e2mica (na verdade falta tal informa\u00e7\u00e3o sobre o Honda), o Kia parece usar menos rota\u00e7\u00f5es em um percurso com muitas subidas como o que empregamos. Nesses momentos, o City sobe com facilidade a mais de 3.500 rpm e joga fora a vantagem da rela\u00e7\u00e3o mais longa permitida pelo CVT.<\/p>\n<p>Um ponto que incomoda no Honda \u00e9 a autonomia em viagens com \u00e1lcool, ao combinar o consumo mais alto a um tanque de combust\u00edvel muito pequeno, de apenas 46 litros.
